What is the biggest challenge for an organiser of meetings, events or congresses? Pff, I could talk about that for weeks and I only got 300 words (30 of which are already used now) Hence my question: how do you choose the right location for your event?
Based on a number of criteria, the organisation chooses a location. So it is useful to find out and it does not matter whether you are an event organiser or whether you are the owner of a location. Which aspects play an important role? And that does not matter whether you are an international association, a company or a freelancer. How can the initiator respond to this request? How can the location give the best possible support to the potential customer? The first step is: suitable and available facilities, good price-quality ratio and good accessibility.
The question we should be asking is: where does the event belong, where does it fit best? The people who know me think now, there you have her again... and indeed, I like to come up with my priority: A congress or business event is at its best in a location or in an environment that suits its ‘natural’ network. What do I mean by this? That the theme of your event fits in with its surroundings. Delft focuses on the a variety of technology sectors such as industrial biotech, maritime & offshore energy and circular economy. Delft is the Hightech Capital and the presence of companies, scientists and interested parties in many technology related fields, make Delft market leader.
As convention bureau we focus on these fields and of course we like to think along with the customer. Our main goal is not only to surprise the organisers but also the participants with the location, the city, the service, and more. Ultimately, it’s all about the organiser and the participants thinking "Wow Delft, I would like to come back, that was an unforgettable experience.” Good preparation is half the work, and that is in our DNA.
