De Oude Bibliotheek Academy, DOB-Academy sits in an impressive historic building, dating from 1915. With its typical old-Dutch elevation in neo-renaissance style, stately stairs and stained glass windows, the building cannot be missed. For quite some older Delft-trained engineers, the library will trigger many memories. Some may recall their favourite study spots for exam preparation, others the lectures in the adjacent wing which at the time was the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Recently, 100 years after its start as a prestigious TU Delft library, the building has found a second life: since 2015, the DOB-Academy uses the building as a prominent training and learning centre for the offshore energy industry and has revived its original function as an inspirational meeting place. A history of knowledge exchange will be continued.
The offshore energy sector is booming and in order to stay competitive, innovation and collaboration between experts and newcomers is crucial. Supporting those educational ambitions, the DOB-Academy offers a variety of rooms that can be used for meetings, and events such as workshops, lectures, presentations etcetera. Multiple conference rooms, a practical laboratory as well as an in-house media studio where the production of high-quality videos for educational and promotional purposes takes place, are on the rental menu.
Based on the belief that knowledge exchange and good food are a perfect combination, the DOB-Academy has a professional kitchen that provides culinary highlights during all sorts of happenings.
